We understand that the sluice gates are now closed so the lake should now start to refill.

After discussions with British Waterways it has unfortunately been decided that there is no way the bottom sluice pipe can be repaired without the lake being completely emptied. The lake has already started to be drained and the first stage of removing the fish commenced on Monday. The second stage will take place on Wednesday and British Waterways will commence the repair work on 5th October. They estimate it to take 2/3 weeks to complete but this will of course depend on the weather.
For safety reasons the lake and surrounding area will be closed to all fishermen and members whilst this work is being carried out. Therefore the number on the gate has temporarily been changed.
