Working Parties
The fishing club have put together the annual working parties for this year at Cofton Lake. Geoff has suggested that he would also attend on the same dates and do maintenance there.
23rd March
6th April
20th April
4th May
18th May
1st June
15th June
If anyone is able to help with some maintenance work between 10am and 2 or 3pm, it would be very much appreciated.
Geoff is arranging some ballast to be delivered to Cofton Lake for the dam wall and the pathway. He will be starting on the path by the board walk that has become very wet, so the plan is to dig a trench and lay some land drain into the lake.
Works On The Lake : Feb 2011
Status
‘British Waterways today (10.2.11) have confirmed that work is almost complete on the upper valve. They will drain water off to fit sandbags around the lower valve in order to help/stop the valve clogging up with silt. They were going to scrap the bronze upper valve that was removed but I asked them to concrete it in near the car park area as a monument – it was made over 200 years ago and has served us well. They have agreed to do this. They are also going to re surface the car park area. All work should be complete at the end of next week – and then we can pray for rain!!!’
